Taking Services to the Twin Counties and Beyond ...

The primary focus of Your Choice Resource Center is to bring the good news of Jesus Christ in both word and action. Jesus came to earth to bring abundant life and to serve. We seek to follow this model by offering pregnancy testing, STD testing, and Limited Ultrasound at no cost. In 2015, at our brick and mortar location, we documented 40 babies saved from abortion, the same year that abortion providers documented 366 lives lost to abortion by residents of the Twin Counties. How many of those babies may have been given a chance at life had YCRC been able to reach them with our Mobile Unit?

Those who are in crisis due to an unplanned pregnancy or a sexually transmitted disease need ANSWERS and need HOPE. Our mobile ministry goal is to reach 1,000 people each year with the options, resources, and hope that they need to be empowered to choose life and understand how much God values them and their babies. Click HERE for more information.

Our mobile unit will allow us to serve women, men and their families

  1. On college campuses
  2. At special events
  3. On church campuses
  4. Near abortion facilities
  5. In the neighborhoods
  6. In partnership with other community ministries

Going mobile allows us to extend the mission of the Center into the community meeting the needs of women and men where they are. Having a life-saving vehicle on the streets and parked at college campuses, other community ministries, and churches is and will make a critical impact on many lives in the Twin Counties and surrounding communities.

Free Services provided on the mobile unit:

For more information about the mobile ministry and how you can be a part of it, please contact Cindy Pridgen at or call the Center at 252-446-2273.

The Facts:

Over half of all pregnancies in North Carolina are unplanned. The latest statistics show that 366 of those pregnancies ended in abortion for residents of the twin counties. Our Stork Bus allows us to reach women and men that may never have heard of a pregnancy help center, or the resources we have to offer. Our goal is to offer easy access of our support services to women who are vulnerable to having an abortion, to educate them about their options, and to expose them to the truth about the value of life through an ultrasound image.

The Twin Counties rank in the top 20 of the 100 counties in North Carolina for the number of new sexually transmitted disease cases per year. Edgecombe Country is 3rd in the state for HIV cases and 2nd for cases of Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Our mobile unit will allow us to offer HIV/STD testing to women and men which will afford us the opportunity to share abstinence education and the hope of God’s redemption through Jesus. We will be able to park our Stork Bus on college campuses, parks, churches, area ministries and events. Source:

VISION: for every girl with an unplanned pregnancy to have a church to go to for spiritual, emotional and physical support

MISSION: to inspire and equip the church to love on single and pregnant young women and their families

Embrace Grace, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed for the purpose of providing emotional, practical and spiritual support for single, young women and their families who find themselves in an unintended pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower churches across the nation to be a safe and non-judging place for the girls to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt.

We provide curriculum and resources for the church to implement our programs and become a Pro-Love church. If the church, the Body of Christ, will join together to support these girls who choose life, young moms will be more open to not aborting their babies. Whether they keep their baby or choose adoption, Embrace Grace is a support system for them as they begin their journey of being a young mother or blessing another family with their baby. Emotionally and spiritually healthy mommies parent emotionally and spiritually healthy babies. Through the Embrace Grace program, lives are saved and generations are being changed. God loves these babies and their mommies, and we do too.

Most churches advocate life and discourage women from getting abortions, but once a brave and courageous girl chooses life, a lot of times the church then steps away and has nothing to offer her for support at that point. She is then left with nine months of being scared, worried and feeling alone. She journeys into a season of being a single mom without direction and guidance from a spiritual family. This is where the Body of Christ can minister to women who are desperately searching for a Savior. This is where we can speak into their lives and hearts that will have an impact for generations to come!

On the outside you look fine.  Just like everyone else: you work, sleep, play -- you live your life.

But on the inside . . .  Are you experiencing any of these?

  1. emotional numbness
  2. crying or depression
  3. substance abuse
  4. guilt, shame or regret
  5. anger or rage
  6. inability to forgive
  7. low self-esteem
  8. nightmares
  9. trouble with intimacy
  10. eating disorders
  11. suicidal thoughts
  12. secrecy / isolation
  13. difficulty being around children

You are not alone . . .  the feelings you are experiencing are normal and thousands of others have experienced them too.

"In spite of the debate surrounding abortion, every day thousands of women make this choice.  Believing that somehow the abortion is 'for the best', they go ahead and deny what they intuitively feel.  They decide in haste and live out their lives in silenced agony.  I know because I did.  I also know that healing is possible -- but only if you face your decision, embrace the loss of your child, and reach out to a loving God."

Susan Stanford-Rue, Ph.D. Psychologist and author of Will I Cry Tomorrow?

It may have been years since your abortion.  But the sense of loss and guilt has not lessened.  When you see another woman's child, you can't help but wonder what yours might look like today.  Millions of women like yourself suffer from Post-Abortion Stress (PAS).

Most suffer in silence as they try to overcome their feelings of remorse and guilt. But you don't have to.

Our mission is to motivate, educate, and support generations of young people to embrace a lifestyle of sexual abstinence until marriage.

Program Components

Independent Girls/Guys Club (IGC)

Decisions, Choices, and Options (DCO)

True2You Logo is a comprehensive abstinence until marriage education program for 7th and 9th grades. True2yoU educates and empowers students to understand that their choices directly impact the course of their lives. Based on a foundation of respect for self, as well as respect for others, this program strives to create a pathway to success that protects them for a lifetime.

  1. This was so awesome to really understand what a special gift this is and the value of saving it for my spouse.
  2. This was encouraging for me, because I have already had sex but I learned that I can stop and choose to be abstinent.
  3. I have learned to be the one who stands out from the crowd and how if I am bold I can change what some people think about saving sex until marriage.
  4. When I saw the pictures of the STDs it made me decide to wait until marriage.

The Independent Girls/Guys Club operates on the principle that “choices direct the course of life.” Its aim is to assist club members in setting standards and goals by which to govern their lives that will decrease the pitfalls along the way. The program will offer the opportunity to take prevention education to the next level. The program length (12 weeks), the repetitive messages promoting healthy lifestyle choices, as well as the development of a relationship between the club members and their mentors is the key to affecting change in the lives of students most at-risk for teen pregnancy, substance abuse, violence, and other destructive choices. Ultimately, we strive to offer guidance to young students that are exposed to multiple risk factors that would influence their life choices in a negative way.

  1. I love our teacher, she is someone that we can talk to about life. We express our real feelings.
  2. This club made a positive impact on my life, because myself and others can see changes happening in me.
  3. This club had an impact on my life because it fixed my perspective of things.

is a high school elective presentation designed to reveal the facts, dispel myths, and communicate the consequences of teen pregnancy to the very audience most affected: high school students. This program provides information on each of the options a young woman faces in an unplanned pregnancy. The goal of this program is to provide current, factual information and correct any misconceptions regarding her options.

  1. I always thought abortion was no big deal but after seeing fetal development of the baby that changed everything.
  2. My eyes were opened to that life starts the moment the egg and sperm meet. This is not what current culture teaches.
  3. I learned so much from this class and definitely feel informed about what is the best decision for the mommy and baby.

HeartSMART is our Christ-centered, Biblically -based abstinence program for church youth and their parents. The thesis of this program is that sex is a gift from God for marriage. This goal is accomplished by a series of guided discussions over the course of three nights. Truth is, the condition of our hearts is sinful and desperately wicked and our only hope is for hearts  to be radically transformed by Gospel of Jesus Christ.
